Does anyone know any references where I can get info/pictures of how to build a stub switch for my 1 1/2" pike? I understand the basics...but what will hold the moving rails securely in correct alignment? Should the movement of the arm be spring loaded? Do most people use a harp switch stand for this? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Seems to me that there was an article in Live Steam back around 1997 which covered the Dayton (Ohio) Live Steamers.( Carillon Park ?) It showed the methods used to make stubs.
Do a search of articles

In May/June of 98, they wrote about the celebration in LS, so my earlier comment may really reflect something in the 94 to 96 era
