I see models like these and am never sure whether I am inspired or depressed.

"Inspired" to try to emulate their work, or "depressed" as I doubt that I could unless I practice for another 50 or 100 years.

In the end, I just enjoy looking at them, marvel at some peoples ability, and accept that although my work isnt up to those standards, I get pleasure from doing what I can.

Thank goodness some people are able to produce models such as these, where one runs out of superlatives when describing them, to inspire the rest of us with our more modest creations.

I know your feelings and thoughts about that. it is depressing in a way. But then again what the hell, I can only do what my attention and interest span will allow. And I will never even come close to Rich's stuff. But even better than that is Rich himself, A true gem will explain the same thing about the model over and over again at a show. And is such a great person and modeler. If you ever get a chance to meet him, go out of your way. As it will make your day. I'm working on the video's of the engine as life and time will allow.
