Mr. William M. Harris reffers to the Mich-Cal No.2 Shay locomotive cylinders in his "The Steam Donkey Engine" book, but does not say where one can get those cylinders. Does anyone knows where to get those cylinders? Thank you. Vic Smagovic

The castings for the Harris engines were sold by Power Model Supply in MO (now defunct) and in any case most of their patterns were lost in the accident which destroyed the business. Some of the surviving patterns found their way onto eBay and were (IIRC) bought by a guy named Mike Venetzia in NJ. I have no idea whether he acquired any Harris design castings, or if so, if he has plans to reissue the castings.

An option you have is to get the Stuart or Tiny Power cylinder set which most closely matches your drawings and adapt those.

GWRdriver, thank you very much for your help. TinyPower has a similar cylinder. Take care. VWS

The shay and donkey use Stuart #7 cylinder sets. They are nice as the porting is cast in. I had no luck getting any so I went to Tiny Power and got casting for my donkey.
