Does anyone still use car trucks that were made by Robert Miller of Bath, PA.? I know these castings were supplied over 40-50 years ago. Also, does anyone still have the locomotive that uses the friction drive with a gas engine?

Greenwind, sorry I can't help you in the Miller truck query, but would like to say that one of his excellent kit locomotives along with a couple of clones run at Mid-South most every spring and fall meet.
For those not familiar with Miller's locomotives, they use only one eccentric to the side and reverse by using a spool valve to swap the steam and exhaust ports.

Jerry Deaton's widow recently sold one of the Miller friction drive diesel outline locos. Mrs. Deaton told me he had purchased it second (ot third?) hand from an earlier owner. I understand third hand that it was shipped to the west coast from middle Tennessee. (FWIW, Jerry was the builder of my Cli-Shay aka Gold Bug). Charles
